All-Ceramic Crowns & Bridges

An All-Ceramic Crown is a protective cover fitted over the existing structure of a broken or damaged tooth to restore function and appearance. With no black line at gum level and made to match your natural teeth in their size, shape and colour, an All-Ceramic Crown provides a very natural looking restoration and smile.

With advances in modern dental technology, All-Ceramic Crowns are proven to be as strong and durable as Metal Porcelain Crowns and so they are able to offer patients the best of both worlds - a highly aesthetic and a long-lasting treatment option.

If your tooth has become broken, decayed or damaged in such a way that a filling is not strong enough to support the tooth, or if you are looking to cover an existing amalgam filling, then a Crown may be recommended by your dentist as the best treatment.

Used to replace missing teeth, an All-Ceramic Bridge is made up of a series of crowns fitted together to fill gap of several adjoining teeth in the mouth. Offered as an alternative treatment option to a partial denture or dental implants, an All-Ceramic Bridge is used to restore the look and feel of a complete smile.

Frequently Asked Questions: All-Ceramic Crowns

  • How much does an All-Ceramic Crown cost?

When you come in to see your dentist, he will talk you through the All-Ceramic Crown treatment procedure, and associated costs of treatment, before any dental work is carried out. Should you have any questions, please always feel free to ask.

  • What are the benefits of an All-Ceramic Crown?

All-ceramic just means that your Crown contains no metal. The main benefits of this are that you will have no black line at gum level, it will look like your other teeth (and have similar levels of translucency) and it will be less likely to cause any allergies.

  • Why would my dentist recommend a Crown?

If your tooth has become broken, decayed or damaged in such a way that a filling is not strong enough to support the tooth or if you are looking to cover an existing amalgam filling, then your dentist would recommend a Crown.

  • How will my dentist fit my new Crown?

First, the outer surface of the tooth will be removed to the required shape for the Crown. Your Dentist will then take an impression of the prepared tooth, together with one from the opposite jaw, to record the bite. These are then sent to our expert dental technicians in our dental laboratory where your new crown is handcrafted and tailored to you. A temporary Crown is fitted until your returning visit, where your new, permanent Crown will be fitted and cemented in place.
